Asher and Rebecca Loftus established Accurist in 1946 making watches with Swiss components. They soon became a successful brand guaranteeing quality with competative prices.

Accurist became the first watch company to actively promote the 21 JEWEL lever-movement, and were the first watch brand to advertise on the television.

Richard Loftus transformed the marketplace by introducing fashion into watches. So instead of buying one watch for life, a range of watches were introduced for different occassions.
