In 1853, Aigle totally altered the footwear world by utilising rubber as it’s main material for boot manufacture. Even though times have changed Aigle boots continue to be made by hand in their factory in Chatellerault, France.
Right from preparation through to finishing, each and every stage is completed under the close scrutiny of specialists in the field. First of all, the natural rubber mix endows the boots with all of their characteristics (supple, waterproof, sturdy and comfortable). And then the parts are assembled by hand on an aluminium last.
The third phase in the process involves vulcanisation of the boots in an autoclave at one hundred and forty degrees to give them their definitive shape. Last but not least each boot is carefully inspected to guarantee a high performance, high quality product is obtained.
Today Aigle not only manufacture boots but they also include in their range of footwear; sandals, trainers, Wellington boots and deck shoes something for the entire family.
