Loading ...Alberta Ferretti to design Eyewear Collection
Top Italian fashion designer Alberta Ferretti has signed a contract with Elite Group Spa for the production and the distribution of her first eyewear collection.
The collection will be premiered at the International Optics, Optometry and Ophthalmology Exhibition, MIDO 2008 in Milan in May.
Milan based Ferretti is famous for her designer womenswear and footwear ranges which includes the signature collection Alberta Ferretti and the secondary line, aimed at the younger woman, Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti.
Alberta Ferretti was born was born in Cattolica, Italy, in 1950, her mother ran a successful dressmaking business in the 1950’s and 60’s which strongly influenced the young Alberta, she opened her first boutique in 1968 in Rimini and stocked it with clothes by clothes from Versace, Krizia and Armani.
The Alberta Ferretti label was launched in 1974, and along with her brother Massimo she established the manufacturing facility Aeffe U.S.A. in 1980, this is where her Alberta Ferretti and Philosophy lines are manufactured.
By the late 1990’s Ferretti had established in store boutiques with Bergdorf Goodman, dedicated boutiques followed firstly in Manhattan’s SoHo district selling just the Philosophy collection, then a flagship boutique on West Broadway (Manhattan) for the signature collection.
