Avon is a global cosmetic giant. Known worldwide for it’s fantastic products which feature a vast range of makeup, toiletries, perfume, hair accessories, various household items and even limited items of clothing.

Millions of women (and some men) order items from this amazing company every year. Avon was founded by 28 year old American door to door book salesman David McConnell in 1886 who discovered that the sole reason that women were purchasing his books was for the rose oil perfume he was offering as a free gift.

The company was originally known as the California Perfume Company and produced it’s first brochure around 10 years after the company was first established. In October 1939 the California Perfume Company was renamed Avon Products, Inc. A name which has stuck ever since.

Avon produce amazing cosmetics which are both affordable and accessible to the general public. Many places have an Avon Representative (affectionately known as “Avon Ladies”) who deliver the Avon Brochures door to door as they did when the company first began. Avon is also very involved in helping raise awareness for breast cancer with their charity the Avon Foundation and their Avon Breast Cancer Crusade which has so far raised over $525 million in over 50 countries and £15 million in the UK alone.
