Italian fashion designer and dressmaker Alberta Ferretti is based in Cattolica, near Rimini, Italy. While her showroom is in Milan.

She is known for her designs featuring twisting, tucking, and draping techniques. Her style utilises a subtle layered look, the erotic characteristics of the silk chiffon and jersey materials she constructs  the  fashions from is evident in the look of her dresses, Many of which are draped low in the back and cut high in the front.

Ferretti’s target market is the ‘cocktail crowd’ which is shown specifically  in the dresses. Most of which are above the knee party frocks, however there are a few floor-length evening dresses. In 1984 the Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti line was launched with an emphasis on youth.
