After his comments about singer Adele’s size, designer Karl Lagerfeld may have started something he can’t stop as Beth Ditto get’s in on the act and defends the British warbler.
The Gossip singer is very well known for her outspoken views and has recently given the world her thoughts on Karl Lagerfeld’s controversial comments about Adele where he branded her “a little too fat”. Beth has stood up and has said that Karl is “talented but not right” adding that he used to be a “fat, eccentric dude” (I suppose only one of those things has changed over time…)
Beth says she has absolutely no regrets about voicing her opinion (does she ever? I love her) however she has played down any speculation of a feud with the designer. “there’s a weird thing with Karl Lagerfeld, which I literally just learned an hour ago – people are like ‘so you called him old and skinny?’ and i’m like ‘well, what is he? Young and fat? He’s not!’”
The larger than life singer says she is happy with her body and absolutely no interest in conforming to the idea of a “perfect pop star”. Beth loves to show off her voluptuous figure in skimpy outfits and is refusing to change her appearance.
“I have no desire to stay super-thin, super-perfect. And when I grow up, I want to look like Patti Smith. That’s how I feel exactly.”
