Dirk Bikkembergs is a Belgian fashion designer, Bikkembergs learned the fashion business at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, Belgium, he graduated in 1982 along with 5 other notable Belgian fashion designers Dries van Noten, Walter van Beirendonck, Ann Demeulemeester, Dirk van Saene and Martin Margiela, the fashion world christened them the “Antwerp Six”.

Reward for Dirk Bikkembergs came in 1985 when he was presented with the Canette d’Or award for Best Young Designer in Fashion, shortly after this he created his first men’s shoes collection. This first collection featured highly original laces and perforated soles. Bikkembergs also received great acclaim at the 1986 British Design Show.

Dirk Bikkembergs popularity has grown steadily over the years, particularly with the younger generation largely due to the launch his fashion line ‘Bikkembergs Sport’ in 2000.
