Prussian fashion designer Sonja de Lennart is credited with creating the first Capri Pants in 1948 as part of her famous ‘Capri Collection’ which included the Capri Skirt, Capri Blouse and Capri Hat.

The style quickly caught on and was popularized by iconic Italian designer Emilio Pucci who had a couture house on the Isle of Capri.

Capri Pants also known as ‘capris’ are a style of trousers that tend to be worn when the weather is warm, the leg length varies from style to style from just below the calf to just below the knee, the shorter variations are often more modern designs.

Extremely popular in the 1950’s and 1960’s the style then suffered a lean period before bouncing back in the 2000’s with a vengeance to become a dominant fashion trend once again.
