Sunday evening saw the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) pay tribute to the winners and honorees of the 2008 CFDA Fashion Awards in the Celeste Bartos Forum of The New York Public Library followed by dinner at the Bryant Park Grill.

The red soled shoes of Christian Louboutin will be moving into an European flagship store in Mayfair, London.
New York architect Eric Clough has designed the shop on W1’s Mount Street, and Louboutin said of his new address, ‘In such a pretty street, I want to have my prettiest shoes.’

The Prime Ministers wife Sarah Brown was an interesting choice of speaker for the launch of London Fashion Week on Sunday.
The British Fashion Council undoubtedly chose Mrs Brown in order to promote the serious side of the fashion business rather than the eccentricity that often prevails.
In her speech at the catwalk venue beside the Natural History Museum, Sarah Brown described British fashion as the “jewel in the crown of the creative industries”, and emphasized the importance of the fashion industry as a major UK employer, providing jobs for tens of thousands of people across the spectrum of design, manufacture and marketing.

FaCshion is an independent fashion shopping event which is going to take London by storm on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 February 2008.
A selection of creative and diverse designers will be exhibiting the latest collections from couture to customised fashion and accessories including handbags, hats, jewellery and footwear at this two-day event for consumers and buyers.
FaCshion will take place in the heart of London’s retail capital at The Music Room, coinciding with London Fashion Week 2008. FaCshion anticipate over 2000 visitors promising a fun-filled day out for the fashion conscious individual. Consumers can enjoy a shopping experience and opportunity to purchase independent collections directly from the designer. Trade buyers can source new collections from established designers and meet new designers that seldom have the budget to exhibit at traditional trade shows.
