Sarah Brown Launches London Fashion Week

Tuesday, February 12th, 2008

The Prime Ministers wife Sarah Brown was an interesting choice of speaker for the launch of London Fashion Week on Sunday.

The British Fashion Council undoubtedly chose Mrs Brown in order to promote the serious side of the fashion business rather than the eccentricity that often prevails.

In her speech at the catwalk venue beside the Natural History Museum, Sarah Brown described British fashion as the “jewel in the crown of the creative industries”, and emphasized the importance of the fashion industry as a major UK employer, providing jobs for tens of thousands of people across the spectrum of design, manufacture and marketing.
