How to create coordinated outfits.

Friday, June 29th, 2007

Most people when going shopping buy single items that catch their eye rather than a whole outfit. Also whole oufits including the shoes can be very expensive. However when you get home what you thought may fit in is the wrong colour and never gets worn.

The best way to overcome this problem is to stock up with some good basics, so that you will always have items to match.

Buy Underwear that is black or white, but also have a couple with pretty straps that you do not mind people seeing. This will help you when buying dresses and tops.

Buy a selection of different coloured vest tops. These can be worn under cardigans and jackets.

Money well spend would be to invest in a couple of pairs of different colour jeans. Jeans go with most clothes and and with the different fits you can dress up or down.

If you can afford it, buy three pairs of shoes. A flat pair of shoes go with most things, some knee high boots for skirts and dresses, and a pair of heeled shoes for special occassions.

In conclusion high fashion items work best when worn with plain pieces, so to make your wardrobe work its best to have some of the basics.

Bra fitting encouraged before breast reduction

Tuesday, June 26th, 2007

The British Medical Association has been told that women considering having breast reduction surgery should first be informed about the importance of a professionally fitted bra and the physical symptoms caused by wearing one the wrong size. Such symptoms, which often lead women to believe that they need breast reduction surgery, are shoulder ache, backache and neck ache. It has been suggested in a motion, which was presented to the BMA, that the services of professional bra fitters should be made available to the NHS.

To spot if you have been wearing a wrongly fitted bra, follow these 6 simple guidelines:

  • If the bust spills over the top of the cup then you are wearing the wrong size cup.
  • The underwire should not dig into the breast tissue, it should lie flat against the breast bone and sit against the body.
  • The part in the middle of the bra, the centre gore, should also sit flat against the breastbone.
  • The underband should fit comfortably in the middle of the back, forming a straight line. You are wearing the wrong size if it rises up and down.
  • The weight of your bust should be taken by the underband. If the straps of the bra are digging into your shoulders and feel uncomfortable then you are wearing the wrong size as the straps are taking the weight of your bust.
  • At least every 6 months, women should aim to be professionally fitted with a lingerie specialist or in a department store. If you lose weight, have children, get older, your breast size can fluctuate. It is therefore very important to be regularly checked.

Pregnancy Clothes

Monday, June 25th, 2007

Buying clothes during pregnancy can be very expensive, as it is difficult to predict how big you will become. You could also borrow some bigger items from friends or family depending on your circumstances and working arrangements.

There are many online shops now that concentrate on maternity wear so you are really spoilt for choice, and some of the clothes can be worn after pregnancy.

The following are a few suggestions that may make life a bit more comfortable.

Always wear stretchy and comfortable underwear. You could get away with smaller garments under the bump, however they may keep rolling down.

Tracksuit bottoms and leggings are usually very comfortable in pregnancy. In the latter stages you maybe able to replace the elastic waistband with drawstring to make the most of the width.

Large sweaters, tunic tops and man size T-shirts are all a must. They are ideal for hiding your waistline if you trousers fit under the bump, and of course very comfortable.

Finally always get measured around seven months for a maternity bra, as that is the size you will probably remain at.

Bikinis out and one pieces in this summer

Friday, June 22nd, 2007

This season, bikinis are no-longer the must have swimwear for the beach. Yes ladies, those old favourites, one-pieces, are back in fashion. Whether it be a sexy, red, low-cut swimsuit, a slinky black bandeau, guaranteed to make heads turn, or maybe a daring cut out style, flaunting those parts of your body that you love and concealing the parts that you don’t.

The Perfect Pair

Friday, June 15th, 2007

It’s a well known fact that most women like to look their best when on holiday, shopping or walking around in the summer and one of the essential fashion accessories for the summer months is sunglasses.

All women have different sized and shaped faces and a lot of women will spend ages trying to choose the right pair of sunglasses and here are a few tips to help to cut down the time it takes to find the perfect pair for your individual face shape.

Oval Faces: To balance the shape of your face, choose symetric frames with central arms (arms which begin halfway down the rims).

Rectangular Faces: To shorten your face, choose wider frames or soft shapes with central arms.

Round Faces: To add definition to your face, Choose angular, shallow frames with high arms.

Square Faces: To soften the overall look of your face, choose soft angular frames with high arms.

One last tip before I go; If you have long hair tie it back before trying on sunglasses so you are able to see if they still give you the perfect profile.

Not Designer Sunglasses sells a wide range of celebrity inspired sunglasses at prices to suit every pocket.
