Omega Seamaster Watches
Wednesday, January 9th, 2008The Omega Seamaster range of watches was introduced in 1948.
The early watches came in two styles, standard and chronometer.
In 1982 the Omega Seamaster Titane was launched, a line of quartz watches with screw-in crown, water-resistant to 120m, the case and bracelet was made from titanium.
The first Omega Seamaster Multifunction watch appeared in 1986, the most sophisticated easy-to-manipulate multifunction watch of its time. Its electronic dial comprised two mechanical hands for giving the time of day plus an LCD for three other traditional time functions along with four instrument functions: countdown, second time zone, chronograph and alarm.
1988 saw the appearance of the Omega Seamaster Professional 1/100, a wrist chronograph with microprocessor, the first in the world with perfectly legible hand display to the hundredth of a second and a memory capable of recording up to eleven different timings (single, cumulative, split and final or lap and total laps). Launched prior to the Seoul Olympic Games of 1988.
