This week the fashion world suffered a great loss. Designer Alexander Mcqueen was found dead in his home. The designs of Alexander McQueen were worn by such celebrities as Cameron Diaz, Rihanna and Lady Gaga and he was known across the globe for his shocking creations that have captivated and inspired millions during his many years as a designer.

As the fashion world mourns the tragic death of Alexander McQueen, and our thoughts go out to his family, what better way to celebrate the life of a modern-day genius than show off his latest Spring / Summer 2010 collection.

This season Alexander McQueen takes a look in the mind, and the wardrobe, of an artist. The silhouette is relaxed and loose with soft shoulders and full trousers.

KZO is a Los Angeles brand designed around a cinematic process that begins with a video treatment, soundtrack and visual storyboards – all telling a tightly focused story.

The new Spring / Summer 2010 collection titled ‘Into the blue, out of the black’ is made up of an indigo, black, blood red, heather grey, charcoal and sky blue palette. Pieces include chambray woven shirts, organic fabric knits, torn japanese selvage denim and mosaic fleeces.

Founded in Japan in 1947 by K. K. Tsenumi, the Edwin company began designing and manufacturing jeans in 1961. Edwin’s Japanese selvage denim has been the bestselling jean brand in Japan since 1981 and is still influencing all the different fits and washes you see in fashion stores today.

Hederus is a futuristic and conceptual menswear label that have just released their Spring / Summer 2010 collection. The clothes are inspired by modern architecture and street fashion. Earlier work has been formed by inspirations such as jigsaws, Lego and box shapes.

Sport and minimalism are often something present. Since the start of working with menswear, the sport influence gave more creative space when it came to create new shapes and unconventional cuts of the garments.

Ice Cream Clothing is a designer brand which is owned by Pharrell Williams of N.E.R.D, and the Neptunes fame and legendary Japanese fashion icon Nigo (both creator and owner of clothing label “A Bathing Ape” also known as “BAPE”). Ice Cream produces some of the best street wear clothing and  accessories which feature amazing graphic prints. The brands name Ice Cream comes from similar origins to the company Apple. It is a name which is easy to remember and simple and associated with a delicious dessert which comes in countless different flavours, which in turn links back to the clothing brand itself with all the different vibrant colours and designs, it too is delicious.
