Catwalk ban for under 16s

Posted by: Style Guru in News

Models younger than the age of 16 are to be banned from the catwalk under new industry guidelines.

The Model Health Enquiry report by the British Fashion Council (BFC) which centres on the issue of size zero models is due to be released on the 11th July and high on the list of priorities is be an age limit on modelling.

This age restriction means that teenagers hoping to follow in the footsteps of Kate Moss, Lily Cole and Naomi Campbell, who all started their modelling careers at 14 or 15, can no longer be used to sell clothing.

Surprisingly, a size zero ban will not be called on by the report, this is expected to lead to criticism from eating disorder groups.
