Over this past holiday period I discovered a new love for corsets – mainly because they help my back but they also look amazing too; especially with so many different styles and colours. The hard part is finding corsets at a decent price – if you just Google the term “corset” you will find MANY websites that will easily rip you off.  However in my eternal search for yet more posture-improving yet amazing-looking underwear-that-you-wear-as-outerwear I found, with the help of my friend Vicky, Corsets UK.

I was amazed at all the different styles, shapes and sizes that were available at decent prices (the one I ended up buying came to £26.70 with P&P).

Corsets UK believe that high quality corsetry should be affordable and accessible for everyone.

Over the last 20 years corsets have become an elite garment and are now tailored by specialist designers across the UK for women of any shape and size. The designers create amazing designs however they concentrate more on the aesthetics instead of the quality and craftsmanship as well as not being able to control their material cost which leaves the buyer with a wonderful looking but badly made and very expensive corset that won’t last the tests of time.

Meanwhile Corsets-UK tailor thousands of pieces every week and are always pushing the boundaries of design; they listen very carefully to their customers through places like Facebook to help develop their business further through suggestions and needs.

Corsets-UK have over 150 tailors who specialise in corsetry in the overseas manufacturing base where the material costs are carefully managed and specialists are trained so that every part of the corset tailoring process reduces the cost paid by the customers; however this doesn’t mean they substitute standards and quality. Corsets UK has over 110,000 fans on their Facebook page who will describe with delight about the pieces they purchase.

This brand are amazing in that their employ Ethical Manufacturing – the directors of Corsets-UK take great pride with running a modern and highly ethical base in the thriving centre of New Delhi. The directors take regular trips and monitor the working standards; ethics are always high on their agenda’s and they appreciate the terrible damaging effects that poor working conditions and exploitation could have on the brand.

In their India manufacturing base, there are 150 people working in a modern building with 15,000 square feet of space that was built less than ten years ago. As heat is a big problem in India, the brand have invested heavily in 10 air conditioning units.

Nobody under the age of 18 is allowed on the site at any time; no children are employed by the brand and employee’s of Corsets-UK are, on average, paid three times the national average; though this is mainly down to the skills of the tailor as it takes over three years before a worker can progress to stitching as this is the most technically demanding department of the whole operation.

Onto the actual products – I have picked out a few different pieces to show you; something that will grab the attention of everyone.

First off is this amazing Blue and Gold Corset which features a gold design on blue base, black lace trim which softens the cleavage line, sturdy metal clasps on the front of the corset (so no annoying re-lacing unless you change shape). In the corset is 12 plastic bones and a mild sweetheart shaped-cut. The corset is 14 ½” in length (from highest point to lowest point on front.)

 

This next corset is the one I have ordered and have on the way to me. It features 12 bones throughout the corset, is finished with a black and red cherry blossom pattern, is fully adjustable in back but features sturdy clasps in front. Mild sweetheart shaped cut, 14” in length (front) and is cut shorter at the back for comfort.

 

If you are looking for something a bit more, or are just unsure as to what to wear with your corset, then this is for you. This is finished in black and red with black lace trim and has fully adjustable lacing in back which is cut slightly shorter for comfort and there are sturdy metal clasps in front for ease. Skirt IS included however it is separate from the corset.

 

This is a waist training corset and is finished in white brocade. Specially designed and made with ultra strong back lacing bone, 100% micro fine cotton lining for complete comfort and double fused for strength. There is invisible waist tape, and 24 spiral steel bones through the courset. In back is heavy criss cross lacing and has strong line underbust – perfect for anyone over the heigh of 5ft 4”. this is 10.5” in length (front) and has sturdy metal clasps in front for added ease as well as full steel busk. This corset can be used to train the waist into 6-7” or smaller – this is a permanent process and it is advised you seek medical advice before starting your waist training journey.

 

Finally, for something very extravagant then this Black Swan/Blind Mag corset is perfect. Full length is 14 ½” and has a full steel busk and 100% cotton lining. There is a modesty panel and has 24 spiral steel bones throughout the corset. There is a mild sweetheart shape for amazing cleavage (va va voom!) and has highest quality black brocade for the waist training part of this corset. This is finished with diamante trimming and has a 16” adjustable Diamante collar finished with coque feathers. The back is cut shorter than front for extra comfort with extra heavy lacing in back. Small metal clasps in front for ease and 6 suspender loops (clips sold separately).
