Britain’s fashion industry today opened an inquiry in order to establish health guidelines for fashion models on the back of the international outcry regarding ’size-zero’ models.

It is the intention that guidelines will be drawn up in time for London Fashion Week in September so that employers of models can handle any size related issues.

In February The British Fashion Council, the industry body which organises London Fashion Week, requested designers only to use healthy-looking models over sixteen years old.

Spanish and Italian fashion authorities have implemented a ban on the skinniest of models, however it is not expected that Britain will follow suit.
