Crocs Inc was formed in July 2002 to market a lightweight plastic shoe first developed and manufactured by Foam Creations, of Canada.
Crocs were originally intended as a boating/outdoor shoe because of its slip-resistant and non-marking sole. Their first model, the Crocs Beach, was launched in November 2002 at the Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show, selling out the 1000 pairs they had produced.
Crocs have become very popular as a summer family shoe which is mainly down to their comfort, bright colors, and light weight (about six ounces). They also have air vents to keep your feet cool!
The main crocs designs are called Cayman, Georgie, Athens, Islander, Aspen, and professional and can be found at Fine Boots.
