Day Birger et Mikkelsen is a Danish fashion brand which was founded in 1998 by Keld Mikkelsen and Malene Birger. The Day Birger et Mikkelsen collection features simple feminine designs with a subtle bohemian edge.
This fabulous fashion brand has really made it’s mark on the fashion industry on a global scale and as a result the various styles used have been used as inspiration for many different seasons. The collection features tailoring, knitwear and evening dresses all sporting fabulous embellishments and a fantastic attention to detail.
Featuring both men and women’s clothing lines the brand appeals to a wide range of people. The brand has two flagship stores in Denmark and has over 1000 stores in 25 countries worldwide. Keld’s vision was to create a brand which was more focused on design rather than being a business focused merely on sales. The brand is what they describe as ‘contemporary everyday glamour’ and they do this with their modern-bohemian brand and subtle embellishments such as beading and hand embroidery.
Malene Birger left the company over 5 years ago and the woman who took her place was Michala Weisneck who brought over 12 years experience to the company and a fresh take on the Day Birger et Mikkelsen look.
