Death of Italian fashion designer
Italian fashion designer Gianfranco Ferrè died in Milan on 17th June at the age of 62 following a brain hemorrhage.
Ferrè was a contemporary of designers such as Gianni Versace and Giorgio Armani, who created a renaissance in the Italian designer fashion industry during the late 1970s and early 1980s, creating competition for the Paris fashion movement lead by Pierre Cardin and Yves Saint Laurent.
Gianfranco Ferrè, known as “the architect of fashion”, was most famous for his flowing white organza blouses.
