Diane von Fürstenberg best known for the wrap dress is a well known fashion designer.

In 1970, with an investment of $30,000, she began designing women’s clothes. It was not until 1973 that the world was introduced to the Knitted jersey wrap dress.

In 1985 she moved to Paris and started producing a line of high-end women’s apparel which was only available in stores such as Bergdorf Goodman, Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Neiman Marcus.

2005 saw the Council of Fashion Designers of America award her a lifetime achievement award, and she has been seen recently appearing as a judge on several episodes of Project Runway.
