Eastpak is a brand that concentrates on making tough packs and bags.
Monte Goldman founded Eastern Canvas Products in 1960 making duffel bags and knapsacks for the military. In 1976 his son Mark noticed that students were using military daypacks as book bags, so he convinced his father to begin manufacturing a line of daypacks. The collection was introduced under the Eastpak name.
Eastpak was the first company to use Cordura, which is a cheap to buy, but very tough. With the new fabric, vivid colours, bold prints, and a motto ‘Built to Resist’ Eastpak packs and luggage became a huge success.
