Fashion Style You

The character Emily Strange (aka Emily the Strange) was created in 1991 by skateboarder Rob Reger and his company Cosmic Debris Etc. Inc. Emily was designed by Reger’s friend Nathan Carrico.

Taking the original artwork Reger created the designs and with racing driver Matt Reed brought them into the fashion world by developing t-shirt designs that captured the mystery of this oddball teenager with 4 black cats.
With her jet black hair, black dress and black tights, 13 year old Emily has a somewhat gothic appearance and demeanour which has made her into a sort of counter culture icon rebelling against the social mainstream.

Emily’s companions are her four black cats. Mystery, Sabbath, Nee-Chee, and Miles.

Emily is a subculture of one and a follower of no one but herself, she is anti-cool. Her favourite phrase is “Get Lost”, she is the ultimate anti-hero for the misunderstood teen.
