Former front man of 80′s band Marillion, Fish (Real name Dereck Dick) has accused organisers of the Scottish Fashion Awards of treating his daughter and other models badly at the event.
The rocker recently ranted on his Facebook page about “chaotic” scenes from backstage at the awards; he claims that his 21 year old daughter (Tara Nowy) and other models who were as young as 15 were kept waiting for hours on end in freezing rooms with little to eat and drink.
The outburst has come hours after Tara lost to Tali (Annie Lennox’s daughter) in the title for model of the year. Speaking on the social networking site he says that Tara “felt the decision was pre-ordained, she was just happy to be considered,” adding “tonight she feels let down by an industry she loves.” continuing his rant, Fish posted “It’s all very well bringing big names up to present the awards but it seems the young people who are the future of the Scottish fashion industry are having their enthusiasm taken advantage of for the sake if corporate profit.”
As all of you would be thinking, as I do, it just sounds like Fish is a bad loser and that is exactly what the organisers of the award ceremony hit back with adding that his outburst has done his daughter’s career “more harm than good”. Chairman of the Awards, Tessa Hartmann has said she thinks “this is the reaction of an over-emotional dad who wanted his wee girl to win. I also think its just a bit silly of him to suggest the judging was pre-ordained. All the girls do well because we give them this phenomenal platform; I did put Tara’s magnificent face n the cover of our event magazine.”
Apparently this is not enough for Fish.
