Doing EXACTLY what it says on the label, God Inspired Fashion (GIF??) is a brand new clothing line by ex Victoria’s Secret model who gave up her wings in the name of God.
Kylie Bisutti (23) wrote a book entitled “I’m No Angel; From Victoria’s Secret Model to Role Model” within she documents her struggle to balance her religious beliefs with her public image as a lingerie model.
Bisutti turned her back on her lingerie model profession to become a Proverbs 31 wife* and mother in Montana. The Californian born ex model has now found an alternative way to stay in fashion while sticking to her beliefs.
“God Inspired Fashion is all about spreading God’s word everywhere and making it easier for Christians to share their faith and God’s love – and that is really what the world needs right now.” says Bisutti written on the newly launched site.
The one time Victoria’s Secret model is a partner in God Inspired Fashion which was initially set up by Angie Frost with the view of targeting students “By using actual Bible verses on clothes, Students will be exposed to the most important book ever written.”
The result of the partnerships is a line of casual wear for men, women, children and toddlers including jeans and polo shirts embellished with proverbs from the Bible in what looks to be a font closely related to the dreaded Comic Sans typeface. To give you an idea of prices, a pair of skinny jeans for women with “Cast your anxiety on him because he cares for you” retail at $29.99 (roughly £52). There are also backpacks, baseball and army caps and scarves. The website even features a section where you can submit a prayer request.
* I went searching because I had no idea what this meant I found the following on wikipedia. “Chapter 31 of the Book of Proverbs in the Hebrew Bible is presented as advice which Lemuel’s mother gave to him about how a virtuous king should reign and also detailing the attributes of a virtuous wife or ideal woman. The second section of the text directs women to be industrious and fear the Lord…” she also has to be the personification of wisdom… so there we go.
