Hair straighteners are generally very easy to use.

All you do is take a small section of hair at a time and place the straightening irons at the root of the section and work through to the ends, applying a light pressure at the root and increase the intensity of the pressure towards the ends.

Tips on using a hair straightener properly.

• Wash your hair, shampoo and condition it as normal, your hair will still be wavy and curly.
• Apply a vitamin enriched serum to your hair, the amount is dependant on length and type of hair, spread serum in your palms and rub it gently into the hair, smoothing the hair along its length as you work the serum in.
• Using a hair dryer and paddle brush dry the hair brushing through the hair as you dry to encourage the hair to straighten. On a medium temperature completely dry the hair. The hair will be beginning to show signs of straightening but it will be dry, frizzy and lack lustre.
• If the hair length is medium or long use clips to separate hair into sections so that you can concentrate on one area at a time.
• Start at the front with a small section of hair run your straightener down the full length in a swift smooth motion until it slides off the hair at the end and the hair falls away, repeat this step on the next section and continue using small sections right round the head, on larger sections of hair you may need to repeat the process two or three times.
• Once most of the hair has been straightened finish off the style by blending at the ends, with all clips removed run the straightener close to the ends and off the ends of the hair, this will help prevent separation that may have occurred when using the clips.
