Australian surfer Richard Meldrum and his wife, fashion designer Jo-Anne Meldrum, founded Hot Tuna in 1969 whilst living in Taree, approximately 10 miles inland from the beach, in New South Wales, Australia.

Hot Tuna draws its inspiration from the Australian surf culture and came into its own during the 80’s and 90’s. The Hot Tuna piranha fish logo is seen on boardshorts, hoodies and T-Shirts at beaches across the world.

Recently Hot Tuna have brought Australian fashion model and expert Elle Macpherson into the fold, and a new ladies range of surf clothing and bikinis was created.
