INK (I’d Never Kill) was founded in 2005 by David Taylor. Soon after, the company also included Chris Taylor, Garry McNeil and Ryan Thorpe. It began when David decided to create his own clothing line and a friend of his, a TV presenter, agreed to wear anything he designed on-screen.
The I.N.K range contains polo shirts, t shirts and hoodies. Each clothing item features either the brand name or a slogan (in a varying range of fonts) or a colourful design featuring anything from multicoloured rubber ducks to optical illusions. They are young people wanting to make a difference in the fashion industry by creating clothes that they like; knowing (and also hoping) that other young people would like them, too. The brand soon grew, with larger and more imaginative designs, although all of the company founders still maintain regular jobs in addition to running INK. The most commonly seen I’d Never Kill image is the duck, a fairly simple design resembling a rubber duck which is shown in a variety of patterns and colours and even a Warhol-style print. Each item of clothing available in the range had a huge amount of effort put into it, for the satisfaction of the customer that they are wearing a high quality garment.
