According to boffins at Cambridge University beauty can be worked out using a simple mathematical formula.

The mathematicians say that waist-to-hip ratio is a significant factor in determining how sexy a woman is perceived, women with a waist-to-hip ratio (WHR) near 0.7, that is with a waist circumference that is 70% of the hip circumference , are apparently rated as most pleasing to the eye.
Based on this formula actress Jessica Alba, the star of Fantastic Four and Sin City, clocks up a perfect score with a WHR of exactly 0.7.

Other stars who rated highly include 60’s screen siren Marilyn Monroe, who scored an almost perfect 0.69 and supermodel Kate Moss, whose WHR of 0.67 helps give her a sexy catwalk strut.

70% of men said they preferred curvier figures such as that of TV presenter Kelly Brook to ultra thin physiques like Victoria Beckham.
