Summer is here and the thermometer has been soaring into the 30’s therefore it is not unexpected that the usually strong sales of sexy “bedroom boots” made famous by the Kinky Boots movie have tumbled.

Devon-based internet and mail order intimate apparel company Wickedelic Lingerie have detected a rising trend coming out of the ashes, customer service manager Nik Grant explains:

“Sales of boots have fallen considerably but they’ve been replaced by a big surge in the sales of kinky shoes instead.”

A quick look at the stock on the Wickedelic Lingerie website tells the complete story, with a vast array of shoes which are not in any way shape or form intended to be for daily wear as Nik continues:

“We sell a large range of shoes which are mostly worn in the bedroom, out clubbing, for fancy dress, pole dancing or extravagant dressing up. High, high heels and platforms, shiny materials and vivid colours in sizes from 3 to 12 feature large in the range.”

This is when the penny drops and the homage to the Kinky Boots topic becomes evident – up to size 12 can simply mean one thing, these larger sized shoes are meant for men!! Nik is prompt to concede:

“It has to be said that our biggest customer base for our Wickedelic Lingerie range of shoes are indeed men – crossdressers just love the sheer exuberance of the range.”

And so there you have it – kinky shoes are the thing for summertime – particularly if you are a man!
