Maharishi has been called the “the grooviest non-designer designer label on the planet”.

The Maharishi brand was created by Hardy Blechman in 1994. The wording of the label is “maha” meaning great, “rishi” meaning guru.

The idea behind the brand was to an environmentally friendly clothing label, and to create alternative perspectives. Such as detaching camoflage from its military associations, and regarding the swastika in the west as a positive symbol, as it has always been in the East.
