Marios Schwab wins Swiss Fashion Award

London based Marios Schwab collected an award worth €100,000 at the Stella Fashion Night competition, run by the Swiss Textile Federation in Zurich.

The Swiss Textiles Award, founded in 2000, rewards international designers on the verge of breaking through.

Fashion designers need to be nominated for the award. From an initial twenty nominees, six finalists were invited to Zurich to present their collections.

Marios Schwab was presented with the award by Swiss Textile Federation president Max Hungerbühler.

The award is not paid out as a lump cash sum, €10,000 is in the form of fine Swiss fabric, the rest is used to support the production, display and marketing of collections.

Athens born Schwab 27 is no stranger to receiving awards he was named Best New Designer at the 2006 British Fashion Awards.
