Markus Lupfer is a German born fashion designer who graduated in 1997 from the University of Westminster and is based in London. As a fashion designer he mainly focuses on knitwear and specialises in sequined embroidery.
The Markus Lupfer fashion label made it’s first appearance in 1998 and has since been endorsed by many different celebrities including Gwen Stefani, Lily Allen and Madonna. Over the relatively short period of time that Lupfer has been in the fashion industry he has successfully collaborated with Labels and Designers such as Cacharel, Clements Ribeiro and Mulberry. The Markus Lupfer collection features beautifully shaped jumpers and sweaters, constructed from 100% merino wool and often feature designs embellished with sequins.
From red sequins on a black jumper spelling out the words “Kiss Kiss” to images of skulls constructed from different coloured sequins and even a quirky bodice design. Markus Lupfer has a unique style which has gained him a cult following from awide variety of people. The items in the collection show a fusion of casual and dressed up, and the styles which are created transcend different age groups. Markus Lupfer designs items for Topshop and launched his label in Selfridges earlier in the year.
