M&S new school range made from plastic bottles

June 8th, 2007

Marks & Spencer (M&S) have developed a ‘green’ school clothing range made from recycled plastic bottles.

The used plastic is shredded, melted and converted into polyester thread which is then woven into fabric.

Skirts, fleeces and trousers for the new M&S school uniform range are made from the recycled polyester yarn.

Prices for this school wear range start at £7 with M&S pledging 5% of the sales price to a Save the Children campaign, for all items sold during August.
