Nicole Richie for Macy’s

July 27th, 2012

It’s still going to be a couple of months before Nicole Richie launches her cut-price collection for Macy’s however the retailer has released some early glimpses of what some of the designs will look like.

A small series of sketches depict a typically boho look which keeps with the reality star’s Winter Kate fashion line – the fabrics will be lightweight and will feature her signature peacock print in various shades of blue and green.

Fans of Nicole’s designs will likely be extremely happy with the collection and not just for it’s similarity to Winter Kate but also for the very pocket friendly prices.

The 24-30 piece line will cost from only $49 (£31.60), the most expensive piece will cost only $149 (£96.05) – still pretty reasonable. Ms Richie explains that the range is inspired by music and is designed for the modern woman.

“With each collection I do, it all starts with music, Music is the driving force behind my inspiration. The collection has a strong mix of masculine and feminine; printed chiffon mixed with faux leathers. I did focus on the details – from the zipper pulls to the buttons.”

Ms Richie is married to Joel Madden of Good Charlotte and has two children with the rocker; Harlow aged four and Sparrow who is almost three. The designer follows in some rather high profile footsteps with her collaboration; past design partners include Karl Lagerfeld, Alberta Ferretti and Matthew Williamson.

The official name for the collection is “The Nicole Richie for Impulse Only at Macy’s” a bit of a mouthful if you ask me and hard to put on a clothes tag. It is officially released in mid-September in about 100 Macy’s stores.
