Run like a Tiger - The story of Onitsuka Tiger began with the establishment of Onitsuka Co, Ltd. in Japan the year was 1949. The company is based on the philosophy of bringing up a sound youth through the medium of sport, the company is devoted to manufacturing sports shoes using original ideas and applying ground breaking techniques.

As Japan recovered from World War II the people began to appreciate sport, Onitsuka Tiger made the sports shoes to accommodate this new and exciting trend. The very first basketball shoes in Japan had a tiger face logo on the arch of the foot and this became Onitsuka Tiger trademark.

The excellence of Onitsuka Tiger sports shoes caught on around the globe and by the 1960s, top athletes worldwide were wearing them.
