Polo Ralph Lauren is a great menswear collection which was founded in 1967 by American fashion designer Ralph Lauren and has since become a globally recognised brand which combines a ‘country club’ style with new society and ‘old money’.
It is a symbolic brand, featuring what can only be described as ‘Classic American Fashion’. Polo Ralph Lauren is not just a fashion brand, it is a lifestyle. It may not be the cheapest clothing available but the quality is second to none. The Polo Ralph Lauren Collection features classic sportswear with a smart tailored edge which is distinctive of the brand. The designs are casual and sporty and are a firm favourite for a huge number of men all across the globe.
It all started when Ralph Lauren (born Ralph Lifschitz) got a $50,000 loan to start his own business. In 1968 he designed and produced a range of Men’s ties and by 1969 he owned a boutique store in the department store Bloomingdales in Manhatten. He launched his first women’s range in 1971 and in 1981 he opened a store on New Bond Street in London, which was the first international store and lead to the brand truly going worldwide. Polo Ralph Lauren today is a hugely recognisable fashion brand; with stores in cities such as Chicago, Milan and Tokyo.
