Each year, Royal Ascot generates an explosion of colour unseen on such a scale in any other English racecourse. Almost every woman who attends wears an exquisite dress with matching hat. Top hats and tails remain compulsory in many parts of the course. While the Queen’s procession, which delights the crowds by bringing the various members of the royal family close to them in horse-drawn carriages, gives us all a clear view as to what fantastic creation the Queen is wearing on the day.
Tuesday: Day one - We saw her wearing a multi-coloured crepe dress under a fushsia coat dress both designed by Karl Ludwig and matching hat with contrasting turquioise flash designed by Philip Somerville.
Wednesday: Day two - We saw her wearing a primrose yellow dress and matching hat decorated with flowers.
