Julien Macdonald is a celebrated British fashion designer creating luxury apparel for glamourous women. The Star by Julien Macdonald Clothing collection is showcased online at Debenhams.

Born in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales in 1971, Julien Macdonald’s graduated at the RCA in June 1996, the legendary Karl Lagerfeld was so impressed with Macdonald’s workmanship and creativity that he quickly employed him as head designer of all knits at the house of Chanel and his own label between 1996 and 1998.

Macdonald’s imaginative vision and creative flair has brought him worldwide plaudits from around the industry for bringing back a high level of glamour to the fashion business.

He joined fashion house Givenchy in 2001 as Creative Director, he went on to produce six collections a year, gaining at the same time a massive celebrity following which includes the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Lopez, Sarah Jessica Parker, Catherine Zeta Jones, Nicole Kidman, Kate Winslet, Zooey Deschanel, Anjelica Huston and Dita Von Teese.
