Popular since the 1950’s the Bolero Jacket is more commonly called the Shrug in this day and age.
The original bolero jacket took its name from the short jacket worn by Spanish dancers when performing to traditional bolero music.
Basically a shrug is a short sleeved cardigan which covers the upper body to somewhere between the bottom of the ribcage and the waist, you could almost say that a shrug is a shawl with sleeves, many shrugs are tied just beneath the breasts.
