When Visa teamed up with TRAID (Textile Recycling for Aid & International Development) to set up a glamorous bring and buy sale in central London fashion aficionados were able to update their wardrobes for free and help the environment at the same time.

Attendees to the Visa Swap Shop were invited to delve into their closets and bring unwanted items of designer clothing and fashion accessories to trade in for points on a special credit card, which could later be redeemed for other donated items.

The three day event, also included catwalk shows, celebrity outfits and workshops on how to customise clothing.

All items that were left over from the event were donated to TRAID.

TRAID was set up to divert clothes and shoes from landfill so they can be reused, recycled or sold to raise money for projects in the developing world.
