Full recognition of his talent came when Walé was presented the Fashion and Design Award at the Multi-Cultural Awards in 2001, he has also been honoured with a listing in 100 Great Black Britons.
Walé in his own words:
“I try to be quite an international designer, but my clothes are known to represent different things in different places. Here in the UK, it’s more of a hip-hop connection.”
The jewel in Walé’s crown is the ‘B-side collection’ which includes not only men’s and women’s streetwear but has been expanded to encompass children’s and babywear.
Celebrities such as Beyonce, Missy Elliot, Ms Dynamite, the Beckhams, June Sarpong, and Alicia Keyes are all fans of Walé’s be-spoke collection ‘Walé Adeyemi’ which is designed to bring his range of luxurious garments to a wider audience.
