The name Aristoc was first registered in 1924 by A.E. Allen & Co, a hosiery company based in the Nottinghamshire village of Langley Mill. In 1934 the company name was formally changed from A.E. Allen to Aristoc Ltd. Aristoc produced their first seam free stockings in 1959. In 1967 Aristoc added tights to its range of products. In 1984 the decision was taken to weed out the poor performing ranges, what remained were only proven sellers making the company more streamlined and profitable. In the 1990’s Aristoc became the first hosiery manufacturer to use Lycra in its products, it was at this time the company relocated to its current location. The 2000’s have been about films for Aristoc with product placement in two huge blockbuster films, “Moulin Rouge” and the James Bond film, “Die Another Day”.
