Keld Mikkelsen created the brand Day Birger Et Mikkelsen in 1997. The inspiration behind the brand was a mixture of the ethnic cultures, modern classics and vintage clothes picked up at flea markets in Paris, London and New York.

Since 1988 six more lines have been added to the Day Birger Et Mikkelsen collection. These are DAY Woman concept, DAY Men, DAY Jewels, DAY Accessories, DAY Kids, and DAY Lingerie. The brand has now had international success and has a bright future.
