Chuck Taylor All-Stars by Converse

Chuck Taylor All-Stars, are a canvas and rubber shoe manufactured by Converse.

The shoe was introduced in 1917 as the ‘All-Star’, this was Converse’s bid to gain a foothold (excuse the pun) in the bludgeoning basketball shoe market. The ‘All Star’ got off to a bad start, sales were slow until star basketball player Chuck Taylor choose them as his preferred shoe. Taylor was so impressed with the shoe design that he fully endorsed the ‘All Star’ and became a top salesman for Converse.

Taylor was instrumental in a few changes to the shoe’s design, consequently the shoe was renamed ‘Chuck Taylor All-Stars’ and Taylor’s signature was included on its ankle patch. Originally only available in black and white Chuck Taylor All-Stars now come in a wide variety of colours and styles.

They are an extremely popular shoe with modern youth culture, being adopted by the punk and emo movements amongst others.

I have to say I just bought a pair of navy blue Converse, I love them.
I disagree. I don’t think Converse are really Punk and Emo, even though you are aloud to wear them, I don’t label them like that.
I lvoe all the styles, but my favorite has to be the classics like red, navy, and black. I want a pair of red now that I got a pair of low-top navy blues.
