World Cup Fashion Face Off at Very

June 11th, 2010

If you’re like me – sick and tired of seeing the World Cup being advertised absolutely everywhere – then you might be a bit sceptical of fashion site www.very.co.uk getting involved in the football action.

But they have actually gone and put a unique twist on things; a World Cup inspired fashion face off at very.co.uk – which sees outfits inspired by the World cup countries go head to head to battle it out and see which country is the most stylish of them all! Personally, I think it’s a rather brilliant flash of inspiration, and it might even result in some of us trying a new style.

Take for example England – they have festival inspired pieces like a summer parka and blue wellies and of course retro sunnies for that perfect festival chic look.

There are plenty of union jack accessories thrown into the mix with an England Rocks tee which you can match with aged slouchy shorts, strappy red leather sandals and a patchwork denim bag – a perfect casual look for a day out.

If you on the other hand want to dress things up a bit then you can choose to wear a cute floral one shouldered top with retro jeans and sandals for that typical English rose look.

With every football match we’ll see two countries pitted against each other in the fashion stakes. Up first are of course us Brits with our ‘quirky chic’ and the ‘Preppy’ look of the USA college girl and whoever wins will go through to through to the next round.

It’ll be interesting to see how people vote because the looks are quite different but equally nice – so if you want some inspiration for some new styles, this could be one World Cup theme to keep an eye on! I can imagine that the styles for countries like Argentina and Mexico are going to be very interesting…
